Olive Oil From Bziza
Bziza, a village in the Koura District of Lebanon, where our handcrafted olive oil soaps are made, is located at the ideal elevation, adjacent to the Mediterranean Sea which has allowed the perfect climate conditions for our olive trees to produce what many believe is the best olive oil in the world. These olive trees have produced the olive oil used in the people of Bziza's soaps for thousands of years allowing many generations the privilege of its skincare benefits.
Our Olive Oil Production
Our olive oil is processed by Arsai, ourselves, from trees located in our family owned olive groves. We like to see the process from the from the selection of the olives, to the production of the oil, to the addition into our soaps, to having direct contact with our customers, to packaging, and shipping. This way we can ensure our soaps are exactly how we want them, the best olive oil soaps possible for our customers.
Lebanon's Ancient Olive Trees
When one wishes to speak of a tree thousands of years old and crowned with mystery, that gives oil with which kings are anointed and the faithful confirmed, then it is to the olive tree that one refers. And olive trees are synonymous with Bziza, for Bziza is entirely covered with this sacred emblem.
The olive tree is native to Lebanon, with cultivation of the olive tree beginning in Lebanon in Phoencian times. In fact, the oldest olive trees in the world are located in one of Lebanon's northern villages. It is believed that they are 6000 years old (which would make them not only the oldest olive trees in the world, but the oldest trees in the world)!
